This year, Fashion Fieldtrip, which features shows by Bangkok's cultishly followed brands, including Asava, Issue and Vickteerut, will be welcoming only 150 spectators. Whether Fashion Fieldtrip is returning to its roots or is just finding an excuse to downsize in the face of an economic downturn has yet to be seen with how well the shows turn out on Sept 17 at Bangkok City City Gallery. They still show at the tent too, but they also started Fashion Fieldtrip in order to work on their own terms. Naturally, it's unlikely for that to happen when showing on a stage that is sponsored by a mall or magazine. From what the freshly appointed creative director of Vickteerut, Aurapraphan Sudhinaraset, tells us, the three brands all miraculously (and conveniently) wanted to go to City City to do something relating to art this season.
